Hey, Wowfamily!đ Junior_Ng here.
Welcome to âWoWderlandâ
This blog is about Worship, Fellowship and Discipleship. Oh yeah, and I almost forgotâ we talk about music a lot too!
This is how it all started:
With a keyboard, a mic and a heart transformed by the love of Jesus… đĽš

đŁâď¸
And this I said to myself…
Yes, it feels good, but it’s not just about the feeling I experience in a moment,
It looks pretty, but it’s way more about the beauty I see with my eyes closed,
It sounds great, but it’s not even about the music I hear,
It’s all about “God’s grace”. âď¸â¤ď¸
I pray that you bear with me as this unfolds in future articles on the blog and in other resources we’ll be sharing.
A chronological snippet of my story đď¸đż
2014
(1) The born of a musician.
On October 22, 2014, I joined the choir at my parish and discovered my passion for music while doing what I was told was “leading worship.” For over seven years, I grew in my musicianship. I learned music theory, practiced my scales regularly on the piano, and enjoyed the opportunity to conduct a choir and perform beautiful songs. The music itself wasn’t the problem. I learned and sang numerous “worship songs,” many of which had great lyrics and a rich vocabulary of religious terms. Technically, I was fulfilling the role of “leading worship,” but to be honest, even though I was in motion, I have to admit that spiritually, I wasnât led anywhere. I triedâoh boy, I triedâharder, louder, longer, smarter, but none of my efforts could change a thing.

(2) When life calls to death.
As a result? Well, I simply QUIT. I quit church, quit school (thatâs another story), and quit almost every activity I had been involved in over the past five years. I silently quit the worship thing to embark on a journey aboard a warship. Ironically, very few people noticed this, because shortly after I made these decisions, COVID hit, and the entire world was shut down. Everyone was constrained to stay home and stay safe. Nowhere could have been safe for me in that season. My fight wasnât against a disease caused by an external bacteria called coronavirus SARS-CoV-2; my frustration was internal, caused by the paradox of singing about a God I knew in my head but not fully in my heart. If what my Bible teaches is true, then something was definitely not right with me.
Here I am, confined at homeâbut not for the same reason as everyone else. They say the outside world is dangerous, but I believe the journey inside oneself is even more threatening. Few people dare to take the road to “seek God.”
As a result? Well, I died to myself. Let me tell you right away: there really is such a thing as a “beautiful death.”

(3) “Can dead bones live?”… The correct answer is Yes!
Fast forward a couple of years, and I could finally perceive the light at the end of the tunnel. But before I move on, let me ask: Does this story sound like a fairy tale? I hope not, because what comes next is even crazier to believe. I apologize if my language seems to take the reality of death lightly. I am aware that many of us have lost loved ones, and I understand that the reality of death is one of the most troubling things to deal with. The only reason Iâm telling this storyâand taking the risk of directing our conversation down this pathâis because, in this story, death is not final. There is a true story, and I can testify that death has been defeated.
I canât go further in my story without telling you about another man. His name is Jesus. If youâve never heard of Him (which I doubt), youâre about to. Jesus is the one who defeated death. He was not just a man; He is also God Himself, made flesh to live among His creation. I cannot tell my story without mentioning Jesusâ story because my story finds its climax in Him, and my life is found in Him.
At this point in my life, I came to a few realizations:
- Worship involves WHAT I do, but it is primarily about WHO I do it for.
- Basically, “leading worship” is less about singing a good song and more about praising God’s Son.
- Worship is not an event; it is a lifestyle.
- He (Jesus) must increase, but I must decrease.
- Jesus is my life, and all my deeds are verses of a song in which God’s grace is the refrain.

(4) The born of a worshipper.
My personal experience taught me the following: “It takes time to master a musical instrument, but it takes a lifetime to cultivate the heart of a worshiper.” Paradoxically, the same experience showed me that it takes much longer to become an accomplished musician, but just a second to receive Jesus into my heart.
That, my friend, is THE GOOD NEWS! At the heart of this glimpse into my testimony is my desire for you to know that the grace of God is always available, and you can choose to receive the life of Christ todayâright now, and right where you are. New birth in Christ is a free gift because Jesus paid the price by giving His life so that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but receive eternal life.
Following Christ has been the best decision of my life. I grew up in a Christian-Catholic family, but my faith went from being a family (or cultural) tradition to becoming my ownâa fruit of a personal relationship with God in 2021. On April 21, 2024, I was baptized. We see in Scripture that the decision to follow Christ and baptism usually happen in quick succession, if not immediately after the first act. In my case, baptism was delayed for two reasons: first, a lack of sound teaching on the doctrine of baptism, which fostered biased understandings and beliefs; second, the difficulty of finding a local church where I could commit myself. This difficulty was mainly due to the fact that I had been moving quite a lot over those three years.
If youâre still with me, thank you! I appreciate it. Now, letâs just do the math really quick. From 2014 to 2024, a decade separates the birth of the musician in me from the birth of the “worshiper”. The question now is: “So what?” “Whatâs next?” and “How can all this serve you in your personal relationship with God?”
Well, keep reading to find out…

(5) What a “WoWnderful” Family.
One of the blessings that come with rebirth in Christ is that we become children of God, loved by our heavenly Father, and adopted into the family of God’s children. We worship God, fellowship with our brothers and sisters in Christ, and grow in our faith through Spiritual discipleship. Does that sound familiar? Well, that’s what WoW Music is all about.
Before I finish telling this part of my story, I would like to address a few categories of people. Please, I ask for your full attention as I speak to you personally from the bottom of my heart. Itâs you Iâm talking to:
- If you donât believe in the existence of God but genuinely want to know Him for yourself, if there really is âa Godâ beyond your current beliefs,
- If you believe there is “a God” out there, but you’re confused by the many voices in the world and the religions claiming the allegiance of your soul,
- If you believe there is “a God” who created everything, but you donât quite understand how this author of all creation can be Jesus,
- If you believe in the existence of God and want to know Him personally, but at the same time, you want to respect other people’s spiritual beliefs without feeling guilty or judgmental toward them,
- If you’re a Christian who has left the faithâwhether partially or completelyâbecause of church hurt, spiritual abuse, unanswered questions about religious matters, or any other personal reason,
- If you’re a churchgoer who would like to fully surrender your life to Christ and get serious about your faith,
- If you just donât know where youâre at spiritually anymore and are open to talking with someone to get help figuring it out.
I want to tell you that God’s grace is always available, and nobody is too far gone. When you make the decision to genuinely seek the Lord, our heavenly Father will come running and meet you halfway. đŁđââď¸
A practical step you can take right now is to pray to Godâwhether in your prayer closet or in a congregation of believers, whether with a loud cry to heaven or a whisper in the silence of your heart. Jesus can hear you from everywhere and at any moment.
God works wonders when His children worship the Lord Jesus in Spirit and Truth. That is what I mean every time I say WoW! (Wonders of Worship).
This is your invitation to join a WoWnderful Family… đĽšđ
God loves you! We love you too and would be honored to be God’s vessels to help you in any way we can and be a blessing for each other. God bless! đ
